A gift you actually want…

This Mother’s Day, Give Yourself the Gift You Actually Want
(It’s not another Stanley cup, I promise.)

As a new mom myself, I’ve been reflecting on the incredible journey that motherhood is. And of course, I’ve been thinking about my own mom — the woman who has shaped me in so many ways. Our relationship hasn’t always been perfect, and there have been phases of conflict, misunderstanding, and not always seeing eye to eye. But what’s always been there, underneath it all, is love — deep, undeniable love.

Through the ups and downs, the arguments and the moments of silence, love has always been the groundwork. It’s what our relationship has built on. I’ve come to realize that no matter how much time passes or how far we grow apart in certain areas, my mom will always be my mom. She’s always just wanted what she thought was/is the best for me. Like many others, my mom will always hold a unique and irreplaceable place in my heart.

Now, as we both navigate through different seasons of life, I’m watching her take on a new role that I could never have imagined before: Grandma to my three kids. It’s a role that brings its own set of joys and challenges, but it’s a beautiful one. Seeing her become a grandmother, hearing my kids call her “Grammy,” it’s like a full circle moment — and it means so much to me. I wish I had more photos of just me and my mom — the two of us together, laughing, sometimes disagreeing, but always coming back to love. As I look at my own kids now, I’m more aware than ever of how important it is to capture these moments.

I also want to take a moment to say thank you to my incredible wife. Some of my absolute favorite photos are of her holding our kids — comforting them when they’re struggling, making them giggle with her amazing dinosaur impression, and just being the amazing mom that she is. The way she loves them, supports them, and is always ready to make them laugh, reminds me every day how blessed we are to have her. Our kids love to say they have two mommies, and it makes them feel so special. We get to share this day together as a family, and I couldn’t ask for anything more. We’ve built a family we never could have imagined, and every day with them is a gift.

One of the many things I admire about my wife is how, with kids who have multiple allergies, she spends hours in the kitchen, laboring to make them feel “normal” by cooking and baking allergy-friendly meals and desserts. Her love for them shines through in every bite of food she prepares — from homemade cupcakes to comfort meals, she makes sure they never have to feel like they’re missing out. It’s just one of the countless ways she shows how much she loves and cares for them.

This Mother’s Day and through the spring, I’m offering Mom and Me Sessions — a chance for you to capture those moments with your own loved ones, with your mom, your kids, or whoever holds that special place in your heart.

Because these memories will be the ones you hold onto when the years go by.
And trust me, you’ll be so glad you took the time to document them.

Here’s what’s included:

  • A 15–20 minute session at a beautiful outdoor location

  • 10+ fully edited, high-resolution digital images

  • Outfit and session guidance

So this year, instead of another pair of leggings or a new water bottle, treat yourself to something that truly lasts: the gift of being present in your own story.

You’ll never regret having these moments captured. I know I won’t.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers, grandmothers, and women who make our lives beautiful. May you spend the day surrounded by love and memories.
